[My likes and dislikes based on Guru's and Krishna's likes & dislikes] Whatever I like, if Krishna does not like, I also do not like. If Krishna wants me to do something that I would generally dislike, I accept it. If Guru and Krishna desire something that gives them great pleasure, I will do it.” How should we understand this?

Answer
Our reference point for likes and dislikes changes. Ordinarily, our likes and dislikes are based on our temporary material identity — thinking, “I am this body, I am a member of this world, I belong to this worldly society.” This is the reference point for everyone in material consciousness. But once we understand our true identity — that we are servants of Krishna — our reference changes. The business of a servant of Krishna is to please Krishna. Therefore, whatever pleases Krishna becomes pleasing to us, and whatever displeases Krishna naturally becomes undesirable to us.
