Answer
Yes, that is the correct understanding. There is no difference in what is being taught by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

The Lord has created this universe and placed living entities in different situations according to their past desires and activities. Based on this, we receive various roles, identities, and experiences. As a result, we accept many upādhis (designations): “I am a sannyāsī,” “I am a brāhmaṇa,” “I am learned,” “I am a kṣatriya,” “I am a lokapāla,” “I am a deva,” and so on. Each of these positions comes with a certain level of power and authority, all sanctioned by the Lord.

This is how the world functions.

However, Chaitanya Mahāprabhu emphasizes that while externally we may have a particular body and role, we must understand the deeper truth. Ultimately, we are not these temporary designations. We are living entities—souls—temporarily situated in different circumstances.

In one life, a person may be in a high position; in another life, they may be ordinary; in yet another, something else entirely. These identities keep changing—they are temporary upādhis.

The ultimate truth is that each of us is a living being with one eternal identity: a servant of Krishna (jīvera svarūpa haya—kṛṣṇera nitya-dāsa).

So, while society operates through various roles and labels—and at a practical level we may need to function within them and perform our duties, just as Chaitanya Mahāprabhu Himself did—we should not mistake them for our real identity.

At our core, we are a spiritual spark, a conscious being whose only true purpose is to lovingly serve Krishna.

That is the essential principle Chaitanya Mahāprabhu is teaching.
