There is no need to change externally, because he was one of the eleven. In that sense, he was acting as a ṛtvik. What really needs to change is my understanding — that is all.
Those who have already taken dīkṣā do not need to change anything formally. Rather, they need to understand their position properly: that their connection is through a representative, while Śrīla Prabhupāda has always been — and remains — their dīkṣā-guru.
If there has been misunderstanding, then unknowingly an offense may have been committed toward Śrīla Prabhupāda, particularly in not properly recognizing one’s dīkṣā relationship with him. Therefore, the proper response is not rejection or disturbance, but humility — to acknowledge this, and sincerely beg forgiveness from Śrīla Prabhupāda.
