Answer
Quantum theory and modern science are trying to discover the ultimate cause of everything. That aspiration is valid — they are genuinely seeking the origin from which everything has come.
However, their search is confined to the material domain. Their methodology is empirical — based on observation through the senses, the mind, and the intellect, supported by experiments. Because of this limitation, they cannot go beyond matter.
When something lies beyond the material domain, they currently do not have a reliable framework to approach or fully accept it. This is where the limitation arises.
Even when devotees seek to understand the ultimate cause, their process is fundamentally different. The Absolute Truth is not an object to be discovered through experimentation — it is a person. And if that person does not choose to reveal Himself, no amount of material effort can force that realization.
It is like standing outside a locked house and trying to enter. You may knock in different ways, try different techniques — but unless the person inside opens the door, you cannot enter. Similarly, the Supreme is fully independent. Unless He reveals Himself, we cannot know Him.
Our material senses, mind, and intelligence are limited. They are not capable of grasping transcendental reality. Krishna is described as Adhokṣaja — beyond the reach of material perception.
To illustrate: suppose I have a phone that is enabled only for domestic calls. If I try to dial an international number, the phone will respond, “This number does not exist.” I may conclude that there is no such place or person — but the real issue is the limitation of my device.
Similarly, our senses are like limited instruments. Even within the material world, they perceive only partially. For example, radio waves exist all around us, but we cannot see them. Only when a device receives them does their presence become evident.
In the same way, Krishna exists on a completely transcendental plane. He cannot be accessed through material methods like quantum mechanics or sensory experimentation.
The proper process is bhakti. When the Lord is pleased, He reveals Himself. He gives understanding from within and through proper guidance.
That is the way to know the ultimate reality — not by forcing discovery, but by qualifying ourselves to receive revelation.
