Answer
Coming in touch with A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada is essential. He has given a very practical and powerful method: establishing temples.
A temple is not just a building — it is a complete microcosm of spiritual life. Within it, all aspects of devotional practice are present: kīrtana, prasādam, classes on Vedic literature, the morning program, deity worship, and association with devotees. When people come in contact with such an environment, they naturally begin to make spiritual progress.
Through this association, they gain proper understanding of Vedic teachings, come to the right conclusions, and are elevated beyond ignorance. It is like taking an elevator — all these combined spiritual activities lift the conditioned soul upward.
This was Srila Prabhupada’s vision. That is why he established an entire organization — to show how temples should function, how devotees should live and practice together, and how society can benefit from this spiritual culture.
In a temple, devotees gather for kīrtana, take prasādam, attend classes, participate in the morning program, and chant together. This collective practice creates a powerful atmosphere for purification and growth.
Srila Prabhupada wanted this process to expand widely. He even expressed the desire to establish a temple in every village of India. Just imagine — lakhs of villages, each with a center of spiritual life. That was the scale of his vision.
He himself took the desire of his spiritual master so seriously that he created a global spiritual revolution. In the same way, if we sincerely take up his instructions and desires, we can become instruments in expanding that mission further.
At the same time, we should remain humble. We may think we are doing something, but in reality, it is by the power of Srila Prabhupada’s desire — and ultimately Krishna’s arrangement — that everything is happening.
Our role is small. Our aspiration should be to become humble instruments in his hands and assist in this unfolding mission. That should be the goal of our life.
