Answer
Yes, that is also a fact. We have to clearly distinguish between matter and material energy.
Matter (vastu) in itself is not the problem. It is one of the energies of Krishna. In that sense, everything ultimately has a spiritual origin. Matter is simply a category of energy created by God.
But material energy refers to that same energy when it acts in a way that makes us forget Krishna. In other words, when matter is disconnected from Krishna’s service in our consciousness and usage, it functions as material energy.
So the difference is not in the object itself, but in how it is used and how it is connected.
For example, a piece of metal:
If it is used for ordinary sense enjoyment or unrelated purposes, it acts as material energy—it binds consciousness.
But if the same metal is used in the worship of the Lord, according to His desire, then it becomes spiritualized. It is no longer functioning as material energy; it is engaged in pure service.
Thus, matter is not inherently material in the negative sense. It becomes “material” when it is used in forgetfulness of Krishna, and it becomes spiritual (viśuddha) when it is engaged in His service.
So the transformation is not in the substance—it is in the consciousness and purpose behind its use.
